The
Auberge de la Croisade at Cruzy needs no introduction. Situated
on the banks of the Canal du Midi, it is a favourite stopping-off
point for canal travellers as well as being well-known for its
gastronomical qualities. Up to the present, one could choose between
sitting in the pleasant and inviting main dining-room or on the
bright veranda with its bay windows opening on to the canal and
the old bridge. |
You
can now dine on the terrace where an elegant pergola, , the
work of wrought iron worker Gilbert Llop from Beziers, protects
you from the heat of the sun.
Wherever you sit, you can whet your appetite on the summer menu
and the specialities which Bruno Rossignol has concocted expressly
for you.
Here are some examples to stimulate your taste buds:
Toasted slices of bread cut into soldiers, topped with cuts of
saddle of lamb and garnished with mild spices ; fresh salmon tartare
with shellfish French Dressing ; fillet of duck with a salpicon
of peaches ; a piping-hot pan of prawn tails flambéed with
Languedoc Marc (grape alcohol) - the list goes on and on.
But, rest assured, your host at table, good-humoured Bruno Plana,
will take care of your utmost needs in his own inimitable fashion.
